Interdisciplinary Artist
I’m Alexander Dodgson, an interdisciplinary artist exploring creativity as a catalyst for connection, growth, and transformation. A first with honours graduate of Leeds University of Art (2013), I’ve always sought to push the edges of convention and reimagine what’s possible in creative spaces. Im not really interested in making money. Through movement, improvisation, and collaborative art, I seek to encourage playfulness, dialogue, discovery, and shared attention. I’m also partial to a bit of painting.
Workshop Facilitator
I am a workshop and creative facilitator with 12 years of experience, specialising in sharing Contact Improvisation for the past three years. My current approach focuses on trust, body awareness, and creative exploration through various creative tools and improvisations, supporting participants in discovering new ways of moving, relating, and sensing.
Photographer
I’ve been passionate about photography since I was a kid, capturing moments, people and stories as I go. Over the years, I’ve worked in various photographic methodologies, but I find the most joy in working with people, often through portraiture, street or event photography.
At this point in my life, I’m especially drawn to documenting the movement, connection and composition available within Contact Improvisation spaces. I have spent the past 3 years support these spaces with my photo works.
Instax Sales Extraordinaire
Alongside my other projects, I’ve spent the last seven years founding, managing, and directing InSquared, a roaming photography service that captures unforgettable Instax moments at UK festivals. From creative direction to daily operations, I’ve played a key role in growing our presence at major events like Comic-Con, Parklife, and Boomtown. To date, The company has delivered tens of thousands of prints and created lasting memories at parties for people all over the world.
